During the Lioness season 2 premiere, a Mexican cartel, Los Tigres, kidnaps a Congresswoman. Joe McNamara, Kyle McManus, and their team rescue her, but the fight is far from over. The CIA learns that Los Tigres isn't the one pulling the strings. Instead, a Chinese agent with the Ministry of State Security is calling the shots, and it's Josephina's job to find them.

After that, it's over. Joe and Kyle accuse Josephina of being a spy for her family, but she adamantly denies it. Josephina says she has stayed away from her family because she doesn't want any part in their business. However, Josephina clearly lied to Joe because she wanted to protect them.
