Gwen Stacy is both a popular character and an important one in Spider-Man canon, but does she actually make an appearance in Marvel's Spider-Man 2?
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is out now for PS5, and many people have already begun web-slinging their way through New York City once more. The game features playable characters like Peter Parker and Miles Morales, and includes many notable villains and side characters. However, one popular and important character - Gwen Stacy - may be on a lot of people's minds as they progress through the game's narrative.

The character was featured in multiple Spider-Man movies, including being a main character in the animated Spider-Verse films. Many iterations of the character exist, including ones where she is bitten by a radioactive spider and given the powers traditionally given to Peter Parker.
Why Gwen Stacy Isn't In Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Although Paquette said Gwen Stacy didn't fit within the narrative of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, likely due to its focus on Venom, there is also another explanation. Typically, Gwen has an impact on Spider-Man at an early point in their lives, but in the world of Insomniac's games, Peter Parker is already an established hero.
While this doesn't mean Gwen Stacy won't ever appear in Insomniac's universe, it can explain why she doesn't appear in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Hopefully, future DLC or a sequel can feature this popular character - even if she only shows up in flashbacks.
