But some researchers investigating AI's climate impact point to an ironic twist: as AI becomes more efficient, we will likely make even greater use of it, burning through just as much energy, if not more.It's an old economics concept called the Jevons Paradox, named for the 19th-century English economist William Stanley Jevons, who observed more coal being burned even as furnaces became more efficient.
