Irving police officers arrested Escarleth Mejia, 30, on a charge of hindering apprehension of a known felon, a department news release stated.
Mejia was booked Wednesday in Dallas County jail, with her bail set at $2,500.Police officials believe that Mejia aided Hector Vicente Paguada Paguada, also known as Hector Matute, escape from law enforcement and helped him flee the city. Paguada is accused of fatally shooting 55-year-old Juana Medina Rodriguez and her daughter, 23-year-old Nayeli Bolanos Medina.Officers responded to the shooting a little before 9 p.m. Jan.
In the following month, officials saidon similar charges. Hernandez also faces a charge of possession of child pornography after officers allegedly found such images and videos while executing a warrant to search his phone.Authorities urge the community to call 911 if they know of Paguada’s whereabouts.
