Published: Jan. 26, 2025, 6:00 a.m.The new year is off and running, and there are probably more than a few folks who are still trying to recover financially from the holiday season.
Some of those people could be in for a nice surprise on that front, and that is because the IRS is in the process of sending out around $2.4 billion in stimulus payments. That money is slated to be divided among a million Americans.Major wireless provider hiking prices to start 2025Well, this is money that was owed to those people but has not been paid out since the last stimulus payments were issued during the pandemic.
“To minimize headaches and get this money to eligible taxpayers, we’re making these payments automatic, meaning these people will not be required to go through the extensive process of filing an emended return to receive it,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said in a statement, per CBS.
the IRS said it will send letters to recipients to let them know the payment is on its way. Payments started in December and are slated to be wrapped up by the end of January. So, if you think you didn’t get all of your stimulus money you might be right.
