Irish weather forecast as Met Eireann predicts 'slight risk' of hail and thunder

Monday night will see showers across Connacht and Ulster, turning increasingly wintry with localised falls of sleet and snow.

There's a "slight risk" of hail and thunder today - but it'll mostly be bright and breezy, Met Eireann has said.

It'll be quite chilly, with a patchy ground frost forming by dawn on Monday. Lowest air temperatures of two to five degrees in fresh southwest winds. The showers will be fairly isolated elsewhere with good clear spells. A cold night with minimum temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees with a patchy frost.Here's Met Eireann's forecast for the rest of the week:
