The official Facebook page for iQOO Malaysia has recently shared a vague teaser image, hinting on the arrival of a
new smartphone for the Malaysian market. Depicted in the picture is merely a silhouette of the device’s rear panel, which suspiciously looks similar to one of‘s upcoming entry to mid-level iQOO Z7 series’ variants that’s recently announced to launch in China on 20 March 2023.
The line-up consists of three models, namely the entry-level iQOO Z7i, the standard iQOO Z7, and the upper mid-range iQOO Z7x. Unlike its latter two siblings that are slated to be fully unveiled next week, the first of which already went official for the Chinese market on 13 March. Based on its recent debut, the iQOO Z7i is revealed to feature a flat 6.51-inch LCD display with 720p resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, and a water-drop notch that houses a 5 MP front-facing camera. It is also the first device to feature MediaTek’s new entry-level Dimensity 6020 7nm chipset, which is paired together with a Mali-G57 GPU, up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
For its siblings, vivo and iQOO are still holding back most details surrounding them until the official launch on 20 March. For now, it’s been revealed that the iQOO Z7 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging support, while the iQOO Z7x will feature a larger 6,000 mAh battery but with a slightly slower 80 W charging rate. Like its entry-level sibling, both of the upcoming Z7 entries are also shown to be equipped with dual rear cameras.
Whether the new series is indeed coming to Malaysia is still not entirely certain, though the resemblance of the teased phone to either the Z7 or Z7x is something worth noting. Perhaps iQOO Malaysia will announce something once the line-up has made its debut in China next week.
