The second-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes will face the third-seeded LSU Tigers on Sunday afternoon in Dallas for the 2023 title.This is not the final many – or any – were expecting.The national player of the year scored a national semifinal record 41 points to lead Iowa past the previously undefeated and defending national champions South Carolina Gamecocks, 77-73, who hadn’t lost a game in more than a year. Clark is also the only player in women’s NCAA Tournament history to scored 40 or more in back-to-back games. She dropped the tournament’s first-ever 40-point triple-double in the Hawkeyes’ Elite Eight win over Louisville. The 1-2 punch of sophomore forward Angle Reese and senior guard Alexis Morris led LSU, as the two combined to score 51 points in the win. Reese also grabbed 12 rebounds against Virginia Tech.
