Sportsbooks in the Hawkeye State saw a massive 74.5% spike in revenue in September, with the operators seeing a combined $27.4 million.

Another month of football has reinvigorated the the sports betting scene in Iowa and as bettors start redownloading their sportsbook apps, most operators are seeing more bets, and more revenue. From those bets, Iowa sportsbooks held 10.1% of the action, a slight increase from the 9.4% in August. The revenue therefore saw a massive 74.5% spike in September, with the operators seeing a combined $27.4 million. The tax bill came to $1.8 million, nearly double the $1 million charge the month prior.

When looking at July’s chart, there are few changes to the order of what apps people are betting on. However, the longer sportsbooks like Fanatics and ESPN BET are in the middle of the pack, the less likely they will be able to compete with the more traditional sportsbooks. , and is the only book to report handle in the nine figures. But every sportsbook in the top nine enjoyed an increased monthly handle, and eight of those operators also reported higher revenue.
