Ultimately, there’s no reason to ditch iMessage or to worry about the security or privacy of your messages, although disabling iCloud backups is needed if you do want to maintain that encryption. But from a direction of travel perspective, this latest update is a game-changer for Apple, iPhone and iMessage.
