Invincible season 2 has doubled down on the show's Batman parody, with it proving that Batman having superpowers would be a terrible idea.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Invincible is a show known for its superhero parodies, and Invincible season 2 just proved why Batman having superpowers would be a terrible idea. Superheroes are often defined by their powers, with every aspect of their identities coming from their superhuman abilities. Juxtaposed with this, Batman is defined by his lack of powers, with the hero having to use tech and his vast wealth to make up for him being a regular human.
As it turns out, Darkwing isn't back alive. Instead, Darkwing's former sidekick has taken up the mantle, wearing the late superhero's exoskeleton and fighting crime in a similar fashion. However, this new Darkwing has one interesting addition: dimension-shifting powers. Darkwing is able to open portals to a dimension of darkness, with him using it to travel and also trapping Invincible inside of it while they are fighting.
The scariest part of Darkwing’s new powers in Invincible season 2, episode 2 is that Darkwing’s attempts to kill Mark would be completely in-line with Batman’s no-killing code. If Darkwing would have left Invincible in the dimension of darkness, Invincible would have been killed by whatever was lurking in the shadows. However, Darkwing wouldn’t have directly killed Invincible, with him instead choosing to let him die.
