Invincible creator Robert Kirkman teases the show may explore new stories not found in the comics. 'I don't want to spoil things, but it's possible there will be episodes in future seasons that are wholly original to the show and written by me.'

Original Invincible comic book writer, Robert Kirkman, reveals that the show could present new stories that were not part of the comics. Prime Video's Invincible is an adaptation of the comic of the same name, which debuted back in 2003, written by Robert Kirkman with art by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Invincible focuses on Mark Grayson, a teenager who is the son of the world's most powerful superhero, Omni-Man.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY During an interview with CBR to celebrate Invincible comics' 20th anniversary, Kirkman shared that there might be original stories told on the show that did not appear in the comics. Invincible season 2's story could be part of Kirkman's plans to expand on the source material, as the writer teases the possibility of "episodes in future seasons that are wholly original to the show.

"There are a few stories I've mentioned in the past that I planned and couldn't work into the comics. I don't want to spoil things, but it's possible there will be episodes in future seasons that are wholly original to the show and written by me. So the potential for that is very exciting for me."What To Expect From Invincible Season 2 Invincible season 1 ended with a very interesting montage that included some the show's villains returning for a second round.

Another major aspect of Invincible season 1 that should be further explored in season 2 is Mark's relationship with his dad, Omni-Man. Nolan Grayson was once Earth's most beloved superhero, until he murdered the Guardians of the Globe and was revealed to be part of the Viltrum empire's program to conquer other planets. Mark and his dad had a very bloody fight in the season finale, which ended with Nolan seemingly realizing what he was doing was wrong and flying off to space alone.

Invincible season 2 is set to introduce two major villains from the comic book: Conquest and Angstrom Levy. Conquest is one of Invincible's most dangerous foes in the comics, with the Viltrumite giving Mark some of his most difficult fights — even surpassing the Invincible season 1 finale fight between Invincible and Omni-Man. Angstrom Levy is another of Mark's arch-nemesis from the comics, with the villain possessing the power to open up portals to alternate realities.
