Right now, police are still investigating multiple cases where employees have been targeted in shootings at their workplaces. With the deadly shooting at Sonic off Babcock Rd. being the latest, there have been at least 4 other shootings that happened this year alone, where the victims were on the clock.
News 4 checked with the San Antonio Police Department about where these cases stand, and out of five, which includes a shooting that happened in December 2023 at a McDonald's off S. Laredo St., there have only been two arrests. One of them was a woman accused of opening fire through a McDonald's drive-thru window after she was upset with her order. She was arrested in May.Another was the arrest of a man who police say was involved in a robbery attempt at the Purple Dragon Vape Shop off Hildebrand Ave.Police are still looking for suspects in the other cases. This includes a shooting involving a 17-year-old who was just getting off of work at The Texas Roadhouse off 1604 and Culebra.A store clerk was also shot at by three women robbing a Circle K store off 410 & Medina Base.The last case involves a Vapecity store off Foster Rd., where two suspects attempted to rob the store.
