The NYPD is now the leading the homicide investigation
Tuesday, August 6, 2024 2:23AMAn investigation is underway in Yonkers after police found a body early Monday morning.Sources close to the investigation says the body was at least partially dismembered in a shopping cart and set on fire.
A spokesperson for the Yonkers Police Department refused to confirm that, saying the victim had been burned beyond recognition. "Yonkers Police Detectives are working closely with the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office," said the spokesman. "Who will make that determination along with the exact cause of death and any additional injuries to the victim."Investigators later deemed the investigation to be a homicide.
