An investigation into the suspicious death of a Polk County mother in May has led to a man’s arrest.

Cody Allen Laviolette, 36, is charged with aggravated assault and unlawful restraint. He was arrested on Friday. Laviolette’s mother, Patty Laviolette, was also arrested on a charge of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, authorities began their investigation on May 23 after the suspicious death of Kelly Taylor Mariah Little 31.
The sheriff’s office said she leaves three children behind. In a Facebook post from May 26, the sheriff’s office said they were called to a report of Little having a medical emergency involving a seizure in the Onalaska area. Little was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Conroe where she died the following day.
"During the course of this investigation, multiple witnesses came forward with evidence collected has led investigators to examine the activities of Cody Allen Laviolette‚" the sheriff’s office said in a new Facebook post announcing Laviolette’s arrest, which was posted on Friday. "Investigators have also identified additional individuals who may have information but could be reluctant to come forward because they believe, based on statements allegedly made by Cody, that he is protected by his and his family’s influence in the Onalaska area. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have witnessed criminal activity involving Cody Laviolette or who believe they may have been a victim to contact investigators," the Facebook post reads.
Authorities say any information from witnesses and victims could help them advance the ongoing investigation into Little’s death.
