A new action-thriller, 'Into the Deep', is set to premiere in January 2025. The film follows modern-day pirates who kidnap tourists and force them to retrieve sunken drugs from shark-infested waters.
The film, Into the Deep, is scheduled to premiere on January 24, 2025, in select theaters and on digital platforms. It will be released alongside several high-profile movies, including The Last Showgirl, a drama; a Wolf Man remake starring Christopher Abbott; the action thriller sequel Den of Thieves: Pantera featuring Gerard Butler; and the historical drama September 5 starring Peter Sarsgaard.
The film's official synopsis reads: 'This action-packed thriller follows modern-day pirates on the hunt for sunken drugs. They kidnap a boat of tourists and force them to dive into shark-infested waters to retrieve the contraband!'. Into the Deep is directed by Christian Sesma from a screenplay co-written by Chad Law and Josh Ridgway. The cast includes Dreyfuss, Callum McGowan, Scout Taylor Compton, and Jon Seda, alongside Stuart Townsend. The creative team also consists of director of photography Niccolo De La Fere, editor Eric Potter, composer Andy Fosberry, and stunt coordinator Jakkrit Kanokpodjananon. Chad Law and Daemon Hillin also serve as producers. The Motion Picture Association has awarded the film an R-rating for 'bloody violence and language'
