Central Ohio fans of the sci-fi epic "Interstellar" can finally get excited as the film returns to the big screen for its 10th anniversary. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the 2014 masterpiece was re-released in IMAX theaters on December 6, but the nearest location was Indianapolis. On Friday, Columbus residents can catch it closer to home.
AMC theaters in Grove City and Easton will begin showing the movie in IMAX format this Friday. This comes after the film's limited re-release, which saw impressive success, earning $4.5 million across 166 screens, averaging $27,000 per screen—the highest in North America. Most showings have sold out, which is astonishing for a movie that's been available to watch at home for nearly 10 years.
