Authorities in Eagle County seized 38 pounds of suspected methamphetamine Tuesday in an Interstate 70 traffic stop.
Just before noon deputies assigned to a Gore Range narcotics team stopped the driver of a white Jeep Cherokee, with California license plates, for speeding, according to a news release. A police dog “alerted” to the rear of the vehicle where several boxes were found containing the suspected methamphetamine.
The driver of the vehicle, and lone person in the Jeep, was arrested on suspicion of distribution of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and an offender sentencing enhancement for a class one drug felony, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
