The decision comes nearly two years after Copeland was appointed following an Oct. 2021 Dispatch report on claims of racial discrimination.
"Equitas Health Interim CEO & Chief Advancement Officer Robert Copeland has informed the Board that he is electing to transition out of Equitas Health," an Equitas Health spokesperson said in a statement to the Dispatch.
Copeland previously served as chief development officer and a member of the board of trustees. He has more than 30 years of experience in health care and nonprofit fundraising.
