Fish Commercial Real Estate, which the city retained to find a buyer, has listed the historic downtown property for $499,000. The mayor would not say how that compares with the city’s appraisal. What it does not state is the building is condemned and the rough estimate to bring it into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act is $6 million.
When council in January voted to retain Fish, members stated they wanted assurance whoever bought it had the money to develop and maintain it.Additional damage to Williamsport City Hall occurred early Wednesday when a coil broke in the air handler within the heating system above the second-floor ceiling.
