Here we go again 😟 An Inter Milan Chief has confirmed Romelu Lukaku's imminent future. MORE:
The Belgian striker returned to the Serie A club on loan ahead of the 2022/23 season amid reports of a fallout between the player and then-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
The 29-year-old is also thought to have agreed to a pay cut to secure the move that will see his wages drop from £325 000 a week at Stamford Bridge to around £210 000 . However, his return to Inter has not gone as planned with the striker struggling to find the net on a consistent basis, with five goals in 18 appearances in all competitions. The club's CEO Giuseppe Marotta has revealed that Lukaku will go back to the Blues as he is not the player he once was.
"The loan was for one season so on June 30 regardless of how well he plays, he’ll go back to Chelsea," the chief said, per the"The problems we have experienced have been experienced by other clubs too and the players who played at the World Cup."Lukaku has not found the fitness he needs to play his best football. He’s still not at his best or the player we got to see in years gone by.
