An alleged picture of Intel's LGA1851 platform has made its way onto the internet, giving us first glimpse of the upcoming Arrow Lake platform, as well as the accompanying 800 Series chipset.
The image showing the LGA1851 platform was first posted on the Chinese forum, Chiphell, detailing the breakdown of Arrow Lake-S, the desktop processor series. One important point on this diagram is that the chipmaker is officially ditching support for DDR4 and focusing entirely on the current DDR5 memory standard.Moving on, Intel also appears to be integrating Thunderbolt 4 controllers and support for up to four displays via the onboard ARC Xe-LPG integrated graphics.
Intel has already announced that its Arrow Lake processors and LGA1851 chipset will be hitting the shelves by the third quarter of this year. In addition, the new chipset is expected to be the first line of desktop processor to run on a packaging design similar to Meteor Lake and more currently, Lunar Lake laptop chips, waving goodbye to the monolithic design the chipmaker has used for the past several years.
