The vest wraps around their body and creates a calming effect, much like swaddling a baby. If you plan on using a compression vest, you'll want to get your dog used to it. You want to get used to putting it on, and the dog will have to get used to wearing it. This isn't something you want to try for the first time on a day where there are thunderstorms.
You want to practice in the days and weeks before active weather. Your pets are more intuitive than you may think. When you’re stressed or anxious, they can pick up on it. Having a severe weather plan for your pets not only makes things easier for you; it makes things safer and less stressful for them, too.
