Instagram influencer Iesha Vincent has created a new collab group of diverse creators to pitch brands and call out those that lack representation
Jessica Serna is a Dallas-based blogger who runs the page @MyCurlyAdventures and is a member of the collab group.Social-media influencer Iesha Vincent recently created a collab group with seven other female travel creators as a way to promote diversity in brand campaigns.
"As an influencer of color, what I like to do is if there is a brand that I know is lacking in diversity I will share other content creators with them, regardless of promoting myself," said Vincent, who runs a petite fashion and luxury lifestyle blogVincent recently founded the collab group Babes That Wander, a diverse group of seven female travel influencers, including Vincent, Jessica Moore , lauryncakes , mycurlyadventures , wtfab , Casey Walker , and Greta Hollar .

Vincent said she hopes the collab group can bring focus to black content creators and black-owned businesses.How Vincent plans to help brands close the diversity gap Over the past few years, some brands have been criticized by name for their lack of diversity, like the retail store Revolve, which was"There's been this issue where we are seeing these elaborate and beautiful influencer trips where brands are taking influencers onto islands, etc.," Vincent said. "But a lot of these influencer trips are whitewashed, no representation of any diversity whether it's race or size.
"When I tried to speak out about that, just asking for a conversation, it was brushed off and then ignored," said Serna,. "Then I lost that relationship and money."
