Instagram has hired a new global vice president of marketing
Waters previously worked at pharmaceutical startup Hims and Hers, and Lyft before that.It's not clear why Instagram's previous global VP of marketing left. He was in the job for around a year.The Facebook-owned photo-sharing app has hired Melissa Waters as its new global vice president of marketing, Business Insider has learned.
Waters comes from pharmaceutical startup Hims and Hers, and she'll be responsible for telling Instagram's story to the world and promoting itself to users and businesses. She replaces Gedioen Aloula, who was only with Instagram in the role for around a year, and who had joined from PC company HP. It's not immediately clear why Aloula left.
Waters previously worked as VP of marketing for transportation firm Lyft, and as VP of brand and product marketing at streaming service Pandora before that.
