Over 110 young people from 11 different youth clubs were recognised at the event
The first ever East Belfast Community Development Agency Inspire Youth AwardsCommunity Development Agency Inspire Youth Awards were held at the East Belfast Network Centre on Thursday, March 21, with 110 young people from 11 different youth clubs and associations being recognised for their hard work and development.
He said:"Across East Belfast, our youth service organisations and young people consistently devote themselves to improving the lives of others. Throughout my time as an MLA, I've had the honour of personally witnessing the incredible and inspiring efforts of many of our young people and youth service providers. It's truly fitting that this commendable work was acknowledged and celebrated during Thursday night's inaugural Inspire Youth Awards.
"He has been with our Walkway family for two years now and during that time his confidence levels have soared and he has blossomed into himself. He has become one of the key members of Rugrats with his family saying that it has been amazing to see the difference in him over the past two years. She was nominated by Paul McCrory, who said:"Cora is a young leader based in the Doyle Youth Centre and has been helping out for almost 10 years now and is a former member herself. She has supported loads of young people over the years on a wide range of different projects which include; young women's groups, community relations projects and many residentials.
They were nominated by Orangefield Presbyterian Church Youth Team who said:"The boys at Clonduff Senior Youth Club wanted to raise money on behalf of their friend Bailie Hardy who was undergoing treatment for cancer. Sadly before planning for the event he passed away. "Buses were booked and the whole community was invited to watch the Clonduff Boys face off against the Clonduff Has-Beens for the Bailie Hardy Memorial Cup.
