Jobstore’s 2020 hiring survey provides insight into how the economy will recover after the Movement Control Order due to Covid-19. FMTNews FMTLifestyle RMCO

Malaysia is entering the recovery phase of the Covid-19 pandemic with the extension of the Movement Control Order until Aug 31. It is now the Recovery Movement Control Order phase.

Some 20% of the respondents have plans to hire, but only after three months, and 22% of employers have no plans to hire. The remaining 2% have yet to decide on their hiring plans.Despite some businesses slashing their headcount, many are sticking to existing hiring plans or even stepping up recruitment, as indicated by 76% of respondents who are considering hiring new employees within six months after the MCO.The data show that five sectors will be most active in taking on new staff post-MCO.

Online ordering systems and online shopping websites are seeing more people using buying channels to purchase goods. To operate seamlessly, the system will require the skills and expertise of developers and various IT professionals as usage surges.Health is a priority now more than ever and as a result the healthcare sector’s need for support is increasing.
