The new 'Museum of Broadway' tells the story of Broadway theater from the first play performed in New York City in 1732 to the present day on detail-rich panels. But there is an imbalance when it comes to how plays are displayed versus musicals.

The first special exhibit is a room of Hirschfeld illustrations of luminaries curated by David Leopold, creative director of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and which includes an ingenious gizmo which allows you to create “your own Hirschfeld”—meaning you can go to town illustrating a face with his trademark bushy eyebrows and springing strands of hair.
