EXCLUSIVE: As The King enjoys a well-deserved break in Romania alone, a leading royal expert has explained why Their Majesties love of solo holidays is the key to their happy marriage
The King arrived in Romania last week for a private visit and a break from official engagements almost a month after his Coronation took place.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained why The King and Queen taking short separate holidays is the key to their close bond and happy marriage. "The house now has some creature comforts, such as running water and indoor toilets for example, but it is still fairly basic living, surrounded by nature.
"For a few days, at least, she can perhaps forget that she is now the Queen with all the responsibilities that role carries." The King typically spends a couple of days each year in the country and can be regularly spotted meeting the locals and going for hikes.
