The NFL will conduct a mock draft Monday with all 32 teams preparing for any technical issues that may arise during the draft’s three days. Here is an inside look at the Cincinnati Bengals’ virtual NFL draft hub.
There are three monitors and a TV situated in Duke Tobin’s porch in Anderson Township, Ohio, that will serve as theThe TV is mounted to the wall and above a small ledge in one corner of the room, which is where the draft order will scroll. A few feet away from the TV is a work station with the three monitors. When facing the front of the room, a computer screen to Tobin’s left sits on a small white folding table equipped with a keyboard and mouse. It will be connected to the Microsoft Teams app and the league’s official draft conference call. “It’s not very big, but it’s kind of a scout’s dream,” said Tobin, the Bengals’ director of player personnel. “You go through the draft all by yourself.” Tobin credited I.T. director Jake Kiser and video director Travis Brammer for setting up the team’s communication channels, but it’s the first draft to ever be held remotely. There are natural worries about problems during the draft.
