The city destroyer was so huge - 26ft long, 7ft wide and weighing 27 tons - it could not fit in a plane.
A parachute slowed its fall before it detonated 2.4 miles above the ground with a blinding flash seen 630 miles away. And it reportedly cracked windows as far away as Norway and Finland more than 1,000 miles from the blast site.
