'SALT LAKE CITY — Red Butte Gardens is hosting a third annual "Blooming with Pride" event Friday that it promises will be full of nature, community and the spirit of pride, organizers say. Local artists came together to create living floral art installations for the event, with eight featured artists this year. All contributed something inspired by this year's theme, "Rooted Together.

" The goal of the event is to bring the community together, according to Kate Randall, a marketing and public relations specialist at the botanical garden tucked away near the University of Utah. During the event, guests can engage in family-friendly activities, including nature-based craft projects, a community art project and a self-guided nature walk.
"It's just a way to celebrate nature, pride and community," Randall said. "Plants are for everyone. And we want everyone to be able to come up and enjoy and express themselves how they would like with their art installations.
