The first new train travelled from Lime Street to Euston this morning
Avanti West Coast introduced its new fleet of trains on the Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston route today. The operator has launched its Class 807 Evero train on the route, increasing services between Merseyside and the capital as a result., returning later in the day, to supplement the current hourly service. The introduction of the Evero trains on the route has resulted in 10 more services from Liverpool per week, increasing to 30 per week next month.
Customer benefits include wireless charging for electrical devices, improved Wi-Fi, more seats than the trains they replace and greater legroom thanks to a more ergonomic design, larger luggage racks and more real-time customer information screens which are easier to read. The new trains also feature improved wheelchair spaces with contrasting carpet and a large accessibility symbol, so customers do not place their luggage in this space.
"I think the important thing to remember is that the number of people who travel between Liverpool and London is really, really strong. But we've got one of the strongest passenger counts of people coming from London to any Northern city. That's why this is something that we really do deserve and want to build on.
