Suitable, considering its name., the renowned British design house behind the yacht’s exteriors, says: “It's such a special project for so many reasons.
“The design is very intricate on this project. The client wants the best of the best,” says Russell. “The level of detail we’re going into on the exterior furniture, for example, is pretty impressive. The helideck is a certified helideck so no obstructions are allowed in that area but the client wanted a huge cinema screen on the bow so to get around that we have these retractable settees which pop out from the deck. It’s completely flush when it’s not being used. It’s really out there.
Positive news of Cosmos’ development comes at a time when the world is beginning to open up again following the Covid-19 pandemic. Luckily production was not hampered during the crisis because unlike shipyards in some other countries, Netherlands-based Heesen managed to continue working, albeit with extra health and safety precautions in place.
