Officers are still investigating the deliberate inferno at Da Luciano's after flames tore through the Italian eatery at around 12.35am on Tuesday.
He claimed the vandal and fire attacks were an effort to drive him out of business. Weeks after he sold the place to Margo Wilson, two vehicles were torched outside of her Uddingston mansion. The roof of her £500,000 home caught fire as the blaze spread to her home and the neighbouring property owned by former Celtic star Leigh Griffiths. Unsettled, Griffiths later sold his mansion for £575,000.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.35am on Tuesday, 18 July, 2023, we were called to a report of a fire at a premises on Silverwells Crescent in Bothwell.
