A police officer tells an inquest she wishes the family of a man shot dead by police in Tenterfield in 2023 had not seen the aftermath of the incident.
A police officer has told an inquest she regrets the wife and children of a man shot dead by police saw the scene.
Mr Selby was shot dead by police outside Tenterfield Police Station after he approached officers with what they thought was a rifle. When they eventually spoke on the phone, Ms Butler said she told Mrs Selby to take her children to Tenterfield Police Station so that she knew she was not being held at the house.At the same time, Mr Selby made his way to Tenterfield police station where he engaged in a stand-off with three police officers.
