An innocent driver was killed in a major crash following a police chase in Pasadena early Sunday, authorities say.
In a news release from Webster Police, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that was reported stolen. Police said the driver refused to stop, which led officers on a brief chase.
Later, police said the suspect and officers approached a red light at the intersection of Beltway 8 and Spender Highway in Pasadena. As officers backed off, police said the suspect accelerated. That was when the suspect collided with three vehicles crossing the intersection. Police said the driver in one of the vehicles involved suffered major injuries and died at the scene.According to Webster police, the suspect had an open felony warrant and is expected to face further charges following the crash.A graduate of the University of Houston-Downtown, Ana moved to H-Town from sunny southern California in 2015.
