A 29-year-old man serving a 10-year prison sentence for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine has escaped from a federal correctional institute.
Victor Alonso Alderete on Wednesday “walked away” from FCI-Englewood at 9595 W. Quincy Ave., Jefferson County, according to prison officials.
Alderete was serving the sentence after being arrested in 2017 in Denver when authorities found about ten pounds of methamphetamine in his residence, according to court records. He was indicted by a grand jury and subsequently pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.
