The teenager wounded in a shooting on a SEPTA subway turned out to be the gunman who shot and killed a 21-year-old man on Monday afternoon, sources say. The 21-year-old was shot multiple times and was taken to Temple University Hospital where he died soon thereafter, according toPhiladelphia police said the 16-year-old male was shot in the arm. He was initially believed to be an innocent bystander, but sources toldThe teen reportedly got on the subway at the Susquehanna Avenue stop and then tried to rob the man. According to authorities, there was a struggle before the teen shot the man at least six times while on the Broad Street Line train.
Authorities called it a “targeted attack.” Philadelphia police searched for the gunman without originally knowing it was the injured teen. The teen arrived at the hospital and said he had been shot at the basketball court. When his mother arrived there, she knew he was lying and he eventually confessed. The 16-year-old told authorities where the gun was hidden.
