KOTA KINABALU: A climber from Nepal was assisted down Mount Kinabalu in Kundasang on Wednesday (Jan 18) after he suffered a sprain on his left leg that caused his ankle to swell.
The Fire and Rescue Department initially received a report from their Mountain Search and Rescue unit alerting the incident at KM6.1 of the mountain trail at 7.45am.
"The Mosar team, accompanied by two mountain guides, gave early treatment to the victim and monitored his condition from time to time. “The victim refused to use a stretcher to descend the mountain, so he was escorted while walking down to Timpohon Gate .
