KUANTAN: Initial investigations have indicated that underground water seepage caused a fill slop to fail, resulting in road cracks along kilometre (KM) 118.2 and KM 117.8 of the westbound East Coast Expressway Phase 1 in Temerloh near here.

The expressway operator, Anih Berhad said that the company, along with consultants, were conducting a detailed study to identify the real cause behind the incident at the flood mitigation project being implemented at location.

"Repair work will be conducted immediately by the contractor as soon as a comprehensive site investigation is completed and a suggested adequate remedial measure is forwarded by the consulting engineer," the company said in a statement here on Monday .
