Ingleby Care Home management faces criticism, but staff win praise for their kindness to residents.
A care home has been handed a "requires improvement" notice by inspectors who found problems in areas including leadership and the safe management of medicines.
The Care Quality Commission report into Teesside's Ingleby Care Home said "incidents were not managed in line with regulations" and there was "a history of inconsistent leadership". But it added staff treated people kindly and with care and respect, while residents were largely happy with the care they received.Ingleby, one of five homes in the region run by Chesterfield-based T.L. Care Limited, provides accommodation and care for 34 people, some of whom have dementia.
On a recent CQC visit inspectors found "medicines were not managed safely" while the home "failed to ensure effective governance and oversight". The CQC asked the home's management to provide an action plan after finding "a failure to learn and improve the quality of the service people received".In a statement, Ingleby's management said: "A new home manager has been appointed and we are working closely with the CQC and local authority on an action plan of improvements.
