Influencer Emilie Kiser documented son Teddy's first birthday party via social media less than one year after son Trigg's death at age 3

Influencer Emilie Kiser shared an inside look at how her family celebrated her son Teddy’s 1st birthday 10 months after her eldest son Trigg’s death at age 3. “Decorate for my son’s birthday with me,” Kiser, 27, wrote over a video shared via TikTok on Wednesday, March 25.

The montage showed the content creator making multicolored paper chains, baking and decorating a smash cake, putting pastel striped birthday hats on stuffed teddy bears, blowing up teddy bear-shaped balloons and setting up her home for a birthday party. The video ended with a clip of Emilie holding the smash cake with a lit birthday candle on top as she and her husband, Brady Kiser, leaned down next to Teddy’s high chair and sang “Happy Birthday” with their party guests. “So grateful that he had such a special day🥺,” Emilie captioned the post. “I can’t believe my baby is one🤍.” Emilie also documented the party via her Instagram Stories, including videos of cookies decorated with teddy bears and lemons being washed in a sink to make lemonade. The birthday celebration comes just under a year after news broke in May 2025 that Emilie and Brady’s son Trigg had died after he was found unconscious in their home’s pool in Arizona. Authorities recommended criminal charges against Brady, who was home at the time of the incident. However, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office said in July 2025 that it would not pursue charges because there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction.” “We are grateful to law enforcement and the county attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and confirming that this was a tragic accident,” Brady’s attorney, Flynn P. Carey, said in a statement at the time. “Brady remains in the midst of the grieving process and is thankful to be with his family as they heal together. We appreciate the compassion and support shown during this difficult time.”“Today is officially 10 months since we lost our son Trigg to a preventable drowning accident,” she wrote on March 18. “I continue to feel like I have no words in what to say when I’m asked how I feel because the only adequate word is ‘broken.’ I miss him so much. Everything about him. Especially the joy and light he brought to our home.” Emilie continued, “I see him in Teddy every single day, and that does bring me some level of peace while also surfacing a lot of other emotions. One of the hardest parts about the last 10 months, although I can’t pick just 1, is having to live without him. Some people might read that and think it’s obvious, but it’s a daily mountain to climb. Waking up without him next to me, not getting to talk to him every day, not getting to see his perfect smile, and so much more.”“The last thing I want to add always when I talk about Trigg is awareness. It’s apparent to everyone who has ever heard HIS story that it was preventable,” she wrote. “So please, fence your pools, add multiple barriers, get your kids in swim lessons NOW & consistently. And last but most certainly not least, always watch them around water.”
