Records with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office show Troy Mahaffey, 32, of College Hill, Ohio, is charged with endangering children and failure to report a crime or knowledge of a death.
police found Geri Mays, 34, on Aug. 2 at a Days Inn & Suites. Officers were called to the motel room to conduct a wellness check. Mays reportedly was on a bed in a room at the motel and was unresponsive.WHIO Channel 7 reportsWXIX reports that a police report shows the infant, who was 7 months old, was wearing a onesie sized for a 3 month old. Police say the baby’s onesie was heavily soiled and the formula in the child’s bottle was curdled.
Police also say it was clear Mays had been dead for a long period of time because rigor mortis had set in. The baby was treated by medical workers and now is in the custody of the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services, WXIX reports.
