An infant's body was found in a portable toilet at the Electric Forest festival in Michigan. Preliminary autopsy indicates the newborn was alive. Authorities seek public assistance.
A tragic incident occurred at the Electric Forest dance festival in Rothbury, Michigan, on June 28, the event's final day. An infant's body was discovered inside a portable toilet in the Good Life camping area at the Double JJ Ranch.
The discovery was made by an employee from the company responsible for cleaning the portable toilets. While authorities have released few details regarding the infant's race, gender, or health at the time of discovery, preliminary autopsy findings, announced by Michigan State Police on July 14, indicate the infant was born alive and viable. No arrests have been made, and the identity of the parent or parents remains unknown.
Investigators have received and pursued tips; for instance, a woman from Muskegon who attended the festival was interviewed and later eliminated as a suspect. The Michigan State Police have emphasized their commitment to a thorough investigation, noting that forensic science and continued investigative efforts will lead to those responsible. The FBI has now become involved, offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual or individuals involved.
Authorities acknowledge there may be individuals with crucial information who are reluctant to come forward and urge anyone with knowledge to submit a tip. The four-day electronic music festival, which attracted approximately 50,000 attendees from June 25-28, featured prominent artists such as Shpongle, Kaskade, Bob Moses, Excision, Eli Brown, Passion Pit, and Griz
