The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety said the Prince Albert Correctional Centre is aware of the complaint and is reviewing the situation. The ministry said it received 114 formal complaints from inmates between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, and all written complaints receive a written response.
The guard now leaves him alone, but Waditaka said he wants him “expelled” from the correctional system. As of the time Waditaka spoke with the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, he had not filed a formal complaint. He said he has been able to access medical services to start making arrangements to see a doctor about his pre-existing post-traumatic stress disorder, and speaks with a chaplain.
