“Our police department suffered a tremendous loss,” said Tell City police chief Derrick Lawalin during a press conference.
He said hospital staff displayed a “valiant effort” in trying to save Glenn after she was shot.
Leading up to the tragic shooting, Glenn, a 20-year law enforcement veteran, was investigating a domestic dispute between Hubert and a female victim, state police said.Glenn spoke with the victim when she reached Perry County Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for her injuries, authorities said. Glenn and other officers began a search for Hubert, but were called back to the hospital when the victim told hospital staff that the alleged abuser was on his way to the medical center.“We are extremely heartbroken,” he said.Davis, the state police spokesperson, said the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
“The Indiana State Police would like to offer our condolences to all the families involved in this situation,” Davis said. “We would also like to offer our condolences to the agencies and everyone that served with Sergeant Glenn.”
