“The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation.” The Asian giants have rival claims to vast swathes of territory along their mountainous 3,500 km border, but the disputes have remained largely peaceful since the 1962 war.
