Jumlah kes disahkan melonjak kepada 297,535, manakala angka korban sebanyak 8,498, dengan 396 kematian dicatatkan dalam tempoh sehari, menurut data kerajaan. Negara ini mengatasi Britain dan Sepanyol dalam jumlah jangkitan, manakala Amerika Syarikat, Brazil dan Rusia, merupakan 3 negara di dunia paling teruk terjejas.
