One of just 13 Porsche 911 Club Sport models ever made, and it's finished in a super rare color too
Being a fan of Porsche is such an unoriginal opinion that it can feel almost hackneyed. But, such is the devotion inspired by the brand that the first-ever club dedicated to it was founded in 1952.to celebrate the 60th anniversary of that impressive dedication, as well as the 700 official Porsche Clubs that followed it, with a special edition model.
This example is equipped with the PDK transmission and is the only one to have been delivered new to the UK. Its owners Mike and Pauline Windsor, like the rest of the 11 other buyers, had to enter a lottery for the chance to buy the car. Meanwhile, Porsche kept the 13th example and stuck it in its museum.
For winning the lottery, buyers got a couple of other goodies, including a dinner hosted by Wolfgang Porsche, and a letter about the car, which is included in this particular sale. This 911 Club Coupe is interesting because it helped reveal another secret about the car. Despite officially being painted Brewster Green, the Windsors discovered that Porsche lied about the Club Sport’s color name after later buying a 992 911 GTS in Brewster Green to match it. After some research, it was discovered that the limited edition model’s paint was actually matched to
personal 993 Turbo S. That means that the model was actually finished in “Family Green,” a color that Porsche doesn’t offer anywhere else.
